Peak Advisory Services
I specialise in delivering in-depth financial performance analysis for farm businesses.
My approach is focused on delivering long-term financial and operational success while supporting personal, family goals and working with the farm team.
Alongside this, ensuring your farm meets crucial environmental and compliance standards, helping you build a sustainable, resilient future while meeting modern standards in farming.
Assessing Current Farm Performance
A full assessment of current business performance is undertaken, looking at all aspects of operational and financial performance over recent seasons, benchmarking it against industry standards. This will include:
- A full assessment of physical and operational performance, including historical production data.
- A review of financial statements.
- An analysis of profitability and cash flow.
- An assessment of balance sheet strength and the business’s overall financial position.

Developing a Plan
This could be a simple as developing an annual farm a budget or a more detailed monthly cash flow, incorporating production targets, or a full farm-system review across all areas of the business.
We use the existing farm financial system Xero/Figured, Farm Focus or other farm monitoring farm platforms.
There may also be other specific analysis using tools such Excel, Farmax or benchmarking tools such Dairybase, or Beef and Lamb Monitoring information.
Services may include:
- Detailed Farmax monitoring package.
- Financial budget.
- Setting up a detailed feed budget.
- Or implementing a straightforward spring rotation planner to optimize seasonal pasture management.
It may also include: animal performance assessment, young stock performance targets, pasture production analysis or recommendations and plans to improve utilisation of both pasture and imported supplements.
It could even extend to revision and advice around nitrogen use and other fertiliser usage (in conjunction with your fertiliser rep.)
Implementation
Once developed, the key steps to implement the plan are identified and put into action.
From there, short-term adjustments may then be needed to meet the specific targets outlined in the plan.
Regular reviews ensure your farming objectives remain on track.
We monitor and assess the progress monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually as required by the client.
This might include ongoing industry benchmarking, where a farm can gauge their current performance, against what farmers are achieving on per hectare basis, with a view to identify key areas of performance
